In the first James Bond film "Dr No, " Sean Connery is seen at the baccarat table wearing none other than a Gold Gruen Precision 510. The same watch also made appearances in "You Only Live Twice, " and Diamonds are Forever.

It's believed that the Gruen was Connery's personal watch and not a movie prop. That said, this is NOT the Bond watch, this Gruen 510 is chrome and not gold, and this reference has a center seconds hand instead of a subdial.

This watch is probably five years newer than the Bond watch, but it's still a Gruen 510. What this watch is, is a near perfect specimen of a Precision 510. The 34mm chromed case is in superb condition with only slight visible wear on the case side.

The crystal is as new, as is the flawless original white dial, with its applied Arabic numerals and batons bright and beautiful. The hand stack is also excellent, showing just the slightest oxidation.

The radium lume is all intact, but it has depleted its phosphorescence. The movement is the Gruen reference N510SS, it is in superb condition. The watch winds, sets and runs as new. On my timegrapher, the watch was running at 6 sec/day variance with 309 amplitude. This would suggest that the watch has had a recent service, but not proof as I don't have records.

The watch comes on a new dark red leather strap, and I'll also include the period-correct chromed flex band that came with the watch. See the high resolution photos for details. This is a highly collectable piece.
